About the Exam

Exam Format

The exam takes approximately 30 minutes in total and consists of three parts:

PART A · ~10 MINPersonal interview
A one-on-one interview about the candidate's professional life.
PART B · 12-15 MINListening
A single listen of two audio recordings with no visual theme; note-taking is allowed.
PART C · ~10 MINVocabulary, structure and pronunciation
Assessment following a 20-second review of an aviation-themed photograph.

The exam is recorded on video and audio; recordings are processed under KVKK. Assessment is carried out by the international test provider TEC (The English Centre).

Test Day Rules

  1. Candidates must be present at the center at least 20 minutes before the exam.
  2. A registration form is completed; the licence and ID/passport are scanned, and an ID photo is taken.
  3. Valuables are left with the secretariat; mobile phones must be switched off and kept outside the exam room.
  4. Only English is spoken in the exam room; the notepaper provided may not be taken out.
  5. Communicating with outsiders, taking the exam for someone else, or rule violations result in disqualification.

Candidate Advice

  • Rest well before the exam and arrive on time.
  • Answer questions clearly and in complete sentences.
  • Don't hesitate to ask for a question to be repeated if unclear.
  • Refresh your aviation terminology with everyday practice.
  • Don't give memorized answers; speak naturally.

Results and Certificate

Exam results are sent by email within 15 business days at the latest; certificate delivery details are shared in the same notification. On request, you can collect your certificate in person or receive it by cash-on-delivery courier.

You can file an appeal within 45 days of your exam being completed; if your score increases on appeal, the appeal fee is refunded.
